SBI Clerk 2026 at a Glance
The State Bank of India recruits Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) state by state through its own exam.
Vacancies: 7,680 regular + 2,086 backlog, as reported. Fee: ₹750 for General, OBC and EWS; nil for SC, ST and PwBD. Always confirm on sbi.bank.in/web/careers.
Who Is Eligible for SBI Clerk 2026?
1. Age
20–28 years on the date in the notification (reported as 31 December 2026).
2. Qualification
Graduation in any subject. Final-year students can apply provisionally.
3. Local language
Must know the local language of the state applied for — read, write, speak and understand.
4. Age relaxation
5 years SC/ST, 3 years OBC (non-creamy layer), 10 years PwBD, and others as per rules.
Selection Process
No interview. Final merit is state-wise and category-wise on mains marks.
Prelims
Qualifying — 100 questions in 60 minutes. About 10 times the vacancies are shortlisted.
Mains
190 questions, 200 marks. Your score decides the merit list.
Language test (LLPT)
Qualifying — unless you studied the local language in Class 10 or 12.
Documents and joining
Document verification, then provisional selection and probation.

What is SBI Clerk?
SBI Clerk is the State Bank of India’s recruitment exam for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales). It is separate from IBPS Clerk. Official information is on sbi.bank.in/web/careers.
What is the age limit?
20–28 years on the date in the notification (reported as 31 December 2026). Relaxation: 5 years SC/ST, 3 years OBC (non-creamy layer), 10 years PwBD, and others as per rules.
Can I apply for more than one state?
No. You can apply for vacancies in only one state or UT, and you must know its local language.
Is there a sectional cut-off?
As reported, no minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual sections — only the overall merit counts.
What is the salary of an SBI Junior Associate?
The starting basic pay for graduates is about ₹26,730 (₹24,050 plus two advance increments), plus DA, HRA and other allowances.
Do SBI apprentices get bonus marks?
Yes, as reported: trained SBI apprentices get extra marks (2.5% of the mains maximum) in the mains exam.
